FSRD – Internship Unit and Career Development Center (CDC) Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) held an Industrial Lecture with the theme Interior Textile Materials and Products on Wednesday (6/12/2023). Industrial Lecture held in the HB Building Hall. Sutopo FSRD UNS aims to meet with partners in order to open up internship and career opportunities for students.
Plt. Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs FSRD UNS, Dr. Deny Tri Ardianto, S.Sn., Dipl. Art. also attended this activity. Dr. Deny welcomed this industrial lecture. \”We really hope that this industrial lecture will bring benefits to all of us, at least opening up insight for students and fellow lecturers about industrial developments outside of today. It is hoped that with the presence of these two industrial companies they can collaborate and work together in the future. For example, students can do internships at these two companies.\” said Dr. Deny.
This industrial lecture presented two speakers from two different industrial companies. The first resource person was Mrs. Natalia from Goodrich Indonesia. In presenting her material, Natalia explained the history of the founding of Goodrich Indonesia. Goodrich was first established in Singapore in 1983 and was established in Indonesia in 1991.
Natalia also explained about the products Goodrich produces. \”Goodrich\’s own products include wall coverings, carpets, fabric and flooring. These four products have different types and functions. For example, carpet products function to replace damaged or dirty parts, are easy to store, easy to move and can be installed according to taste. \\\” said Natalia.
Goodrich products have been used in various places. These include The PakuBuwono Apartment, Raffles Hotel, Intercontinental Resort, Tentrem Hotel and many other companies that use Goodrich products. Apart from that, Natalia also brought samples of products from Goodrich and showed them to the students present.
Meanwhile the second resource person was Mr. Thumasto, S.E., M.Comm. from Onna Ventura. Thumasto also explained the various products produced by the Onna industry. Among them are blinds, curtains, mosquito screens, partitions and wallpaper. Just like Natalia, Thumasto also explained the process of making the products produced by Onna.
This industrial lecture was attended by Arts Crafts Study Program students, Interior Design Study Program students as well as representatives of Visual Communication Design Study Program students and Fine Arts Study Program students.
Head of the Internship Management Unit and CDC FSRD UNS Dyah Yuni Kurniawati, S.Sn., M.Sn. and Coordinator for Internships and Field Work, M. Rudianto, S.E., S.Sn., M.Sn. FSRD UNS also hopes that this industrial lecture can provide students with views and insight into career opportunities in foreign industries after completing their university education.
