FSRD – Internship Unit and Career Development Center (CDC) Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) conducted an industrial visit to PT. Iskandartex Surakarta on Thursday (7/12/2023). This industrial visit activity was attended by 60 students who took part in discussions related to motif design and consumers. Accompanied by the FSRD UNS Internship and Field Work Coordinator, M. Rudianto, S.E., S.Sn., M.Sn. and representatives of Interior Design Study Program (Prodi) lecturers, Ayu Fibramantya Adi, S.T., M.Ars.
This industrial visit activity aims to provide opportunities for students to carry out activities outside the campus to support learning.
The industry is part of the stakeholders of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, as a partner in opening up internship and career opportunities for students.
PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile Surakarta (PT. Iskandartek) is an industry in the textile manufacturing sector producing patterned cloth (printed batik cloth). The production department at PT Iskandartek is divided into two departments, namely weaving and printing.
During this visit, students were allowed to see directly the activities and work processes at PT. Iskandartex. This activity was guided by Mr. Agus from the Personnel department and Mr. Yudho who is the Head of the Motif Design Department of PT. Iskandartex.
The delegation from FSRD UNS is welcome to see and observe weaving and finishing activities which include the motif design process and the printing process.
