Organized by Taiwan Ministry of Education, executed by Asia University, sponsored by iSee Taiwan Foundation, Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation, and TPCA Environment Foundation, 2020 Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) is in its thirteenth year.
The theme of 2020 TISDC is Action and three categories are included: Product Design, Visual Design and Digital Animation. If students would like to have more specific directions to design, the theme “Action” is derived from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations, hoping global citizens could “take action” to reach the goals. There are 17 goals in total. Thus, any design that are related to the 17 goals are eligible for this year’s competition.
The prizes of the Competition include: 1 Grand Prix, 1 Gold Prize, 1 Silver Prize, 3 Bronze Prizes, and several Honorable Mention Prizes for the three categories of “Product Design,”“Visual Design,”and“Digital Animation,” respectively ; 21 International Design Association Special Prizes, sponsored by iSee Taiwan Foundation & Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation ; 1 Environmental Sustainability Award sponsored by TPCA Environment Foundation. The Brand Specified Special Prize: Environmental Sustainability Award is an award sponsored by our sponsor, TPCA Environment Foundation. They will select an entry from Product Design Category, which not only contains the idea of “Action” but also “Environmental Sustainability” to be the winner.
Throughout years of endeavor and effort, 2019 TISDC attracted a total of 66 countries/region worldwide, 810 schools to join the competition, receiving 21,988 registration entries among the 4 categories, which set a new record and indicated that TISDC is indeed the most participated, with the highest awards international student design competition in a worldwide scale.
